GENETIC SURROGATES

ONE-OFF COLLECTION

Genetic Surrogate Rings of Critically Endangered Species. Recycled gold, vitreous enamel and repurposed precious gemstones.

Jet worked with scientists at the Frozen Arc Project to include an accurate identifying strand of genomic data within each ring. A strand of DNA pertaining to 3 iconic critically endangered species is engraved with CNC machining beneath the surface of the enamel.

These animals recognised as amazing species include the Philippine Eagle, Tarzan’s Chameleon & Peacock Tarantula.

Given that jewellery can survive for thousands of years, Jet is memorialising these precious entities in jewels. This taps into a long established tradition in jewellery as practised by cultures from the Ancient Egyptians to the Victorians.
